About
Over the last few years I’ve become interested in (obsessed by?) acoustic guitars. I bought my first acousticĀ long ago when I was at university, but I never really played much. My flat mates still thank me for that.
When I moved house a few years years ago, I started to take lessons for about a year and a half and little by little my playing got marginally better. I would still qualify my playing as below par for most purposes but I enjoy playing immensely.
Like many players I have been known to suffer from G.A.S. (Guitar Acquisition Syndrome). As I result I currently own the following guitars:
Martin D-18V in amberburst (mahogany dreadnought)
Martin D-16GT (mahogany dreadnought) *SOLD*
Guild JF-30 12 (maple jumbo 12-string)
Blueridge BR-43 (laminated mahogany OOO)
Martin 000-28VS Custom *CURRENTLY ON CONSIGNMENT* *SOLD*
Obviously I’m lacking in the rosewood department. I “need” a rosewood dread at some point. Either a new HD-28V as a companion the the D-18V or a pre-1969 D-28 (Brazilian). Or maybe a 1973 (birth year) D-35? Or maybe…. oh well.
I hope to be able to complete building my own guitar over the coming period. Whatever happens, I’ll try and keep a little journal of the proceedings here.
Thanks for stopping by.
